Dayton police officers arrested a man, accusing him of handing out food to unhoused people without a permit. This happened on April 7 at Courthouse Square.

The settlement resolves the lawsuit the man filed against Dayton Police alleging his civil rights were violated in November 2022 when two officers handcuffed him and took him to the hospital against his will.

Dayton Police will now only complete a Traffic Crash Report if a death or injury requiring an ambulance occurs, if there is a hit and run, an OVI, or if there is damage to a vehicle that requires it to be towed from the scene.
