WYSO Social Media Discussion Policy

Social media is a powerful tool in furthering WYSO’s mission to serve the Miami Valley and beyond with information and inspiration that improves lives and builds community. We use social media to connect and interact with different audiences and welcome engagement in the spirit of information sharing, promoting insightful discussion, and understanding of issues important to our community.

Although we encourage public interaction and communication about the content we post on our social media accounts, this does not imply that we agree with or accept the content, opinions, or views expressed within any public comment. All social media comments and discussion are regularly monitored.

While we do not discriminate against views or opinions posted to our social networking accounts, we reserve the right to immediately delete or hide any comment that we find to be in violation of our social media discussion & commenting policy. WYSO also reserves the right to remove/block users who violate this policy.

A comment violates this policy and may be deleted/hidden if it contains any of the following:

  • Hate speech including but not limited to comments that promote, foster, or perpetuate discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, genetics, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or intellectual disability or sexual orientation;
  • Profanity, obscenity or vulgarity including creative spellings of swear words using asterisks or other symbols;
  • Sexual content or links to sexual content;
  • Personal attacks or defamation to a person or group of people;
  • Promotion or advertisement of a person, a business or any other entity: This includes comments that promote or oppose any person campaigning for election to a political office or that promote or oppose any ballot measure.
  • Infringement of a copyright;
  • Spam, such as the same comment posted repeatedly;
  • Any other comments that WYSO deems inappropriate.
