Ryann Beaschler (she/her) is a multimedia journalist and a fourth generation southwest Ohioan. She covers a wide range of topics including government services, local business trends, housing projects, community initiatives, health care, art and education.
Reporting for WYSO, Beaschler produces stories covering Miami Valley’s communities large and small including her work covering independent pharmacy struggles, a unique veterans housing project, Urbana’s multi-generational candy store, and Ohio’s haunted attraction scene.
Beaschler has worked for print, digital, audio and video platforms. Her coverage of Oxford’s community art scene garnered the region’s 2023 Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence recognition for Best Use of Multimedia and was a national finalist for that award.
Before WYSO, Beaschler reported for The Buckeye Flame, The Miami Student, and The Oxford Observer. She studied at Miami University of Oxford, Ohio, receiving degrees in Journalism, and Media and Communications.
When not reporting, Beaschler can be found doing arts and crafts, watching documentaries, visiting cities near and far, and spending time with her 2003 Honda Element.
