Severe thunderstorms moved through southwest Ohio once again on Friday, bringing strong winds that caused tens of thousands to lose power.
Flash Flood warnings were issued for portions of Butler and Hamilton counties after more than two inches of rain fell in a brief period of time. Flood advisories were issued in Montgomery County Friday afternoon with over an inch of rain falling, causing standing water on some roads.
One-inch diameter hail was reported a few miles east of Miamisburg at 2:45 Friday afternoon. Other areas in and near Miamisburg were pelted with hail.
The storm’s strong winds brought down trees in Downtown Dayton and Xenia, Hamilton, West Carrollton, and Kettering.
The National Weather Service’s forecast calls for rain chances off and on for the next several days with warm, summer-like temperatures.
