Severe thunderstorms moved through southwest Ohio once again on Friday, bringing strong winds that caused tens of thousands to lose power.
Flash Flood warnings were issued for portions of Butler and Hamilton counties after over two inches of rain fell in a brief period of time. Flood advisories were issued in Montgomery County Friday afternoon for over an inch of rain, causing standing water on some roads.
One-inch diameter hail was reported a few miles east of Miamisburg at 2:45 Friday afternoon. Other areas in and near Miamisburg were pelted with hail, as were locations near Beavercreek.
The storm’s strong winds brought down trees in Downtown Dayton and Xenia, and near Hamilton, West Carrollton, and Kettering.
The National Weather Service’s forecast calls for rain chances off and on for the next several days with warm, summer-like temperatures.
