Rick Perales To Face Kim McCarthy In Ohio House District 73 Race

Incumbent Beavercreek State Representative Rick Perales won overwhelmingly in Tuesday’s primary for House District 73. Perales won with 81 percent of the vote. Jocelyn Smith took 19 percent.

Perales will face Sugarcreek Twp. Democrat Kim McCarthy in November’s general election, who ran unopposed.  The district covers western Greene County, including Beavercreek, Fairborn and Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Rep. Perales is serving a third term.

The race attracted widespread attention after Smith accused Perales of inappropriate sexual behavior that allegedly included texting, unwanted kissing and choking. Perales has denied the allegations.
