Ohio's tornado count hits 16 so far for 2025

Ohio’s tornado count for this year is up to 16.

The National Weather Service confirms that a weak tornado briefly touched down in the evening April 25, two miles north of Greenville in Darke County.

The storm hit just after 7:30 p.m. Friday evening and damaged a structure on Greenville-Celina Road, just north of Children's Home Bradford Road.

Security cameras showed circulating winds at the property, which sustained minor damage.

The tornado was rated an EF0 with maximum winds estimated at 65 MPH. No injuries were reported.

Ohio averages 21 tornadoes a year, though the state reported 74 tornadoes last year.
