4pm Update: Antioch College announced its campus lockdown has been lifted. The suspect was not found, but police believe the area is now safe. Glen Helen Eco Camp activities will resume as scheduled on Friday.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Department has responded to a report of a male in his twenties, wearing camouflage and carrying what looked like a gun near Glen Helen Nature Preserve in Yellow Springs.
A spokesperson at the Outdoor Education Center says a staff member confronted the man about being on private property. He showed what looked like a handgun, made a threatening statement then ran away.
Nearby, Antioch College is currently on lockdown while police using canine units search the area. They are advising anyone on campus to stay in their building or office and to avoid the area if you are not on campus already.
Officers at the Outdoor Education Center on Rt. 343 in Yellow Springs say that there are many children’s activities taking place at the Glen today, and parents are being asked to pick up their children.
