R.D. Holder Company relocating to New Carlisle

Springfield's R.D. Holder Company has announced that it will build a $1.5 million distribution center and headquarters in New Carlisle. The company will receive a seven year tax incentive from the town as an incentive to build there.

In April, a massive fire destroyed R.D. Holder's commercial lubricant distribution center in Clark County.

The company's new headquarters in the Rogers Industrial Park on North Dayton-Lakeview Road, is scheduled to open at the end of 2013.

New Carlisle city officials agreed to refund 50 percent of the company's income taxes and 50 percent of its corporate profit taxes as long as Holder maintains a minimum payroll of $700,000.

The city is planning to pay for the incentives from revenues collected from cable and waste collection contracts.

The new Distribution Center will not house the extremely flammable Dragon Racing Fuel, that investigators suspected caused the fire at the Clark County facility.
