UD New Horizons Music Program Open House
Adult music program holding open house
The University of Dayton New Horizons Music Program will hold an open house from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, at Temple Beth Or, 5275 Marshall Road, Dayton.
The open house is for current and prospective members who would like to join the program for the second semester, which runs from Feb. 5 through May 2. The event offers the opportunity to meet some members and instructors, tour the rooms used for rehearsals, and enjoy some light snacks. There will be some computers at the open house plus coaches to help people register.
The UD New Horizons Music Program is for adults who have never played an instrument, are rusty after years of not playing, or are seeking to meet and play with others who share their love of music.
UD New Horizons has a beginning band and a beginning orchestra, two concert bands, two jazz bands and two string orchestras. Professional instructors conduct the ensembles and give group lessons in playing flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone/euphonium, tuba, percussion instruments, violin, viola, cello and string bass.
