What's Great in Dayton: May 24 - 30, 2017

DCDC2, is doing About Being, which presents new work with the idea of the story circle where people come together and share stories. The dance artists tell their stories through memories, voices, and perspectives to reflect identity and revisit the question of self-definition and its relation to the world. This is tonight and Saturday, 8pm at UD's Boll Theatre Kennedy Union.

As old as the battle between good and evil, is the struggle between man and woman. See what happens when poets of our time face off at Metaphorically Speaking's Fourth Anniversary Battle of the Sexes. Be up close and personal as the story unfolds in this sexy, gritty, didactic, style. Saturday, 8:00PM, Dayton Convention Center.

A national festival of women's films is at Dayton on Sunday, 3-5 pm at THE NEON. Nine selected films will compel discussion, make you laugh, tug at your heartstrings and motivate you to make a difference in your community. The films are united by a common thread of exceptional storytelling - by, for and about women. Two additional short films will be by a local filmmaking collaborative that worked with incarcerated women at the Dayton Correctional Institute to help them make their own short films.

The 2017 Glen Helen Ecocamp season now has week long Ecocamps which offer a quality outdoor experience while participating in theme related group activities. Ecocamps are an exciting alternative to beat summer boredom! Each camp offers a nature-based theme with engaging and age appropriate hands-on activities.
