Over The Rhine's Nowhere Else Festival Returns To Southwest Ohio Labor Day Weekend

The Nowhere Else Festival, a weekend Americana festival hosted on a 23-acre farm outside of Wilmington, OH by Cincinnati-born folk band Over The Rhine, is making its return this year after a one-year pandemic-related break. The band's husband-and-wife core duo of Linford Detweiler and Karin Bergquist stopped by WYSO's Excursions program to play some live music, and talk about the upcoming festival with host Evan Miller.

The 2021 Nowhere Else Festival, "An Extended Musical Family Reunion," will be held on Labor Day Weekend (Saturday September 4 & Sunday September 5) on 23 acres of farmland in Clinton County, OH, and feature acts such as Patty Griffin, Mary Gauthier, Allison Russell, Peter Mulvey, Over The Rhine, and more. More information can be found at NowhereElseFestival.com.

Evan Miller is a percussionist, lover of sound, and is probably buying too many cassette tapes online right now. Evan got his start in radio in 2012 at WWSU at Wright State University, where he was studying percussion performance. He followed through with both endeavors and eventually landed a lucrative dual career playing experimental music at home and abroad, and broadcasting those sounds to unsuspecting listeners Sunday nights on The Outside. Maintaining a connection to normal music, Evan also plays drums in bands around the area, and hosts WYSO's Midday Music show. When not doing something music-related, Evan is most likely listening to podcasts or watching food videos at home with his cat.
