Today is 2012’s First Friday in Downtown Dayton. Lots of exhibit openings at the galleries, art demonstrations, live music and jazz and ice skating. As you are wandering around you will be hearing REV. COOL'S AROUND THE FRINGE since lots of places have dialed their radio to 91.3 WYSO.
When you go to the Dayton Philharmonic this weekend you will be seeing 5 famous Norman Rockwell paintings AND you will be hearing the musical interpretation of each of those! And there are some half price offers right now so go to daytonphilharmonic.com
The DAI is providing more hours for you to see the NORMAN ROCKWELL show. If you were alive in the 40's, 50's, and 60's you will remember many of the works...and if you assume those years are ancient history you need to go and get a glimpse of what life was like with me and any senior citizens you know.
The Dayton International Peace Museum's major exhibit-- "The Life and Ideals of Mohandas Gandhi"-- opens Sunday, The exhibit includes classic images of Gandhi and panels on his spirituality, simple lifestyle, and nonviolent campaigns for justice and independence. And at 2 o’clock a UD prof will be giving a talk about this.
Weekly my website has my suggestions of what’s going on around here and you can find it at GreatDayton.com
Gotta go….
