Five-Year Anniversary Event Celebrates Recovery Success

more than 1,800 hundred area residents

--For Immediate Release—

Springfield, OH, June 20, 2024 – BrightView Health’s addiction treatment center is holding a “Rise to Five,” event to celebrate and recognize patients, honor community partners, share BrightView’s values, and mark five-years of effective addiction treatment in Springfield.

The event will take place on Wednesday, June 26th, from 1-3 pm located at 201 North Yellow Springs St., Springfield. This event will feature site tours, delicious food, sweet treats, music, and most important how evidence-based outpatient addiction treatment can help Springfield residents who struggle with alcohol and substance use disorder.

In the last five years, BrightView Springfield Addiction Treatment Center has helped more than 1,800 area residents work towards recovery through 24,366 hours of medical treatment and over 30,600 hours of behavioral health counseling and therapy.

Effective addiction treatment is increasingly important in the Springfield area. About 90% of overdose death reports from 2023 have been entered into Ohio’s mortality database. Overall, overdose deaths appear to have fallen about 6% statewide in 2023 vs. 2022, but overdose deaths are still on track to exceed 4,600. However, significant differences exist by region and between Ohio’s 88 counties, Clark County has seen a decrease in overdose deaths in 2023.

“Even if the data shows a decrease in our county, we still need to fight the fight, one person dying of a preventable disease is one too many. At our Springfield location, we create treatment plans to ensure that anyone with the disease of substance use disorder can achieve long-term recovery,” said Braeden Long, BrightView Operations Director for Springfield.

BrightView’s program is comprehensive, providing individual counseling, group therapy, peer support, psychological, social services and medication for addiction treatment (MAT) to address the full range of challenges associated with substance use disorder (SUD) and alcohol use disorder (AUD). Each program is individualized to meet the goals and needs of every patient, which ensures the best long-term success.

BrightView Community Outreach Manager, Molly Cruz said, “Patients have transformed areas of their lives by engaging with the center’s case management services to find safe housing, reliable transportation, access to food, and even job preparation. In fact, unemployment rates among BrightView patients decrease by 50% on average in the first 90 days of treatment.”

“Building partnerships with local medical providers, justice system professionals and community partnerships is also crucial in developing continuity of care,” said Long. “We understand from decades of research that improving lives one patient at a time creates positive trends across the community.”

People or families seeking help can call BrightView at 833-510-HELP (4357) 24-hours per day, seven days per week, or schedule an appointment online at www.brightviewhealth.com.

Treatment often begins the same day, and walk-ins are welcome until 3:00 pm on weekdays. For patients suffering from withdrawal, it takes less than 4 hours from the time they walk through the door to receive stabilizing medication, complete their first counseling session, and begin lasting recovery with BrightView.
BrightView Health is the largest addiction treatment provider in Ohio with nearly 11,000 Ohioans under care across thirty-seven centers in the state.
