Impeachment Trial Coverage On WYSO

Dear WYSO Listeners,

If you’re like me, you’re paying very close attention to the news these days. The impeachment hearings and trial are of enormous significance for our country. I am proud that WYSO is a free source of factual information about this topic, available commercial-free to anyone with a radio or internet connection.

We put a lot of thought into how to cover the trial, which could last for many weeks, and came up with the following plan:

  • Live, minute-by-minute coverage of the trial from NPR will be available through the WYSO website (see below)
  • You’ll hear the regular schedule on our FM signal, as those programs will provide important summaries and analysis of the trial. Otherwise, Morning Edition, All Things Considered and On Point would be interrupted.
  • For those listeners for whom music provides a needed pause from the news, Excursions will continue to air from 12-3 each weekday.

I welcome your feedback on our plan. Please, reach out to me at the phone or email listed below.
Sincerely,
Luke Dennis

Luke Dennis tried to get a job at WBUR in Boston in 2002 and they told him to come back when he had experience. In 2012 he landed at WYSO and plans to never leave. In between he served as the executive director of Muse Machine, taught acting to undergraduates, led opera education courses for adults, and served as a curator for Harvard University. Luke learned how to make radio documentaries as a member of the first WYSO Community Voices class. He lives in Yellow Springs with his family.
