The restrictions of COVID-19 have brought Peter Mulvey closer to his purpose as a musician. Social distancing and the widespread transition to digital platforms has heightened a recognition Mulvey says he’s always felt: “the most good I’ve done in the world has been to give people a reason to gather together”.

In this interview ahead of Mulvey's appearance at the Nowhere Else Festival, Kaleidoscope host Juliet Fromholt dives into the musician's world now. Mulvey explains the changes in his songwriting process, including possibilities for collaboration with fans through a weekly writing group. He examines his position as a role model with the responsibility to promote safety, as well as the new and delightful opportunities he has had to bring people closer through music.

Peter Mulvey will serve as the master of ceremonies for the Nowhere Else Festival, September 3 - 5, 2021 in Martinsville, Ohio.
