Book Nook: The Glass Rainbow by James Lee Burke

James Lee Burke has spent the past forty years writing exquisitely crafted works of literary fiction. Burke is best known for his series of crime novels featuring the Louisiana lawman Dave Robicheaux. In his latest, "The Glass Rainbow," the 18th book in this series, Dave is plunged into a murder mystery that is based upon some actual unsolved crimes. Dave and his best buddy, the private investigator Clete Purcell, become entangled in the dark schemes of a serial killer. In "The Glass Rainbow" readers can savor the work of an author who it truly on top of his game. In this interview Burke describes his inspiration for this story. He also reveals how he derived his portrayal of the serial killer from a man who once attended Burke's church.
