Voters in the midterm elections Tuesday will consider a number of state races.
In Clark County’s House District 79, two-term incumbent Kyle Koehler faces Democrat Amanda Finfrock.
The Springfield Republican Koehler has been a software engineer and government contractor. He’s also worked for his family business, K.K. Tool.
The candidate has pushed for reforms in office, including to the payday lending industry. He's been endorsed by The Ohio Manufacturers' Association, among other groups.
Democrat Finfrock is a New Carlisle attorney. She grew up on a Clark County farm and has served as a captain in the Army National Guard JAG Corps.
She’s campaigning on a promise to push for higher-paying jobs, and to boost funding for public education and opioid-first responders.
The district favors Republicans. Koehler won over his Democratic opponent Alex Wendt in 2016 by more than 20 points.
House District 79 includes Clark County, Springfield, Springfield Township, Clifton Village, Enon Village, Mad River Township and New Carlisle.
