School Buses Coming Back in Struggling OH District

School buses will return later this month in a struggling Ohio school district where voters approved a tax increase after eight rejections.

The interim superintendent of the Little Miami Schools said at this week's school board meeting that the district is "standing in a hole" but is trying to get back up to ground level. The southwest Ohio school system has been under state supervision and listed in "fiscal emergency."

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports bussing for more than 600 students is scheduled to resume Jan. 23. The district cut transportation services in 2009 in the midst of a long string of levy losses. Voters approved a tax issue in November after shooting down eight others since 2008.
