The Yellow Springs-based band Vinyl Tap plays a mix of classic rock, soul, blues and jazz. Band members have all played with other bands over the years but this quartet was founded in 2021 in Yellow Springs by veteran keyboardist Jim Klinger. He is joined by Rick Sanders on bass guitar and vocals, Tim Clendenin on drums, and Chandler Shelton on lead guitar and lead vocals. The group gathers their favorite classic rock, soul, blues and jazz tunes to create an eclectic repertoire of hits from the '60s, '70s, '80s and beyond. Their playlist ranges from originals to covers of Deep Purple, Eric Clapton, Santana, George Benson, Miles Davis, Sonny Boy Williamson, as well as Wilson Pickett, Steely Dan, Peter Frampton, Stevie Wonder, The Allman Brothers, and others.
