Children’s Hospitals to Get Two Million Dollars for Research Projects

Ohio’s Children’s hospitals will be getting two million dollars for two different types of research. One million dollars will be used to research how to break the cycle of drug addicted babies while the other million will be used to research asthma. Xandula Gaitor ‘s two sons will be part of the latter project.

"We was that family that was at the sports events with inhalers. We was that family that had to leave sports events early because he could not finish playing football. We’re also that family that has to have that daily dose of medications…..Advair, Singulair, Zyrtec…..just to get out of the house everyday. So we are so humbled to know that we are part of the family (that’s going to help with the research)"

Ohio’s Children’s hospitals will work with the state to capture Medicaid costs for both research efforts over the next two years and document improvements in outcomes.
