Farmers from across Ohio gathered in Wilmington last week to attend a panel with U.S. Rep. Greg Landsman and U.S. Sen. Elissa Slotkin of the Senate Agriculture Committee to discuss rising input costs, E15 fuel and the Farm Bill.

The Ohio Corn and Wheat Growers Association teamed up with 13 other corn-producing states to send a letter, requesting transparency from the DOJ and USDA on a federal probe into fertilizer markets.

Researchers from the university are hopeful that House Bill 568 will be reintroduced this term after it died in the last legislative session.

Originally focused on Northwest Ohio farmers, H2Ohio is now enrolling farmers from all 88 counties. The water quality program aims to protect lakes and waterways from toxic slime and pollution.
