U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins visited Darke County, Ohio, to talk about their bird flu response. "There's no part of America that has been more ravaged with the avian bird flu than where we stand right now and so that's why we're here."

The Ohio Association of Food Banks has reported seeing the highest visitation numbers within its 35 years of operation between July and December of 2024.

Darke County is the center of Ohio's egg industry and its poultry farmers have been particularly hit hard. This loss drew Gov. Mike DeWine and other state and industry leaders out Thursday afternoon.

The local grocery store needs to increase sales to meet its fourth anniversary in May 2025.
