WYSO Weekend: February 2, 2014

In this edition of WYSO Weekend:

  • News that caused a lot of people to reflect on the past and their love and respect for the legendary Pete Seager who died a week ago Monday.  The following day, filmmaker Julia Reichert sat down in the studio with Niki Dakota to remember the musician and share audio from her interviews with him.  Here’s a good portion of that conversation.
  • Michael Groomes is the founder and Artistic Director for SMAG Dance Collective in Dayton.  The organization is about to celebrate their 10th anniversary.  I spoke to Michael by phone about what’s taken place in those 10 years and what the group is all about.
Jerry Kenney is an award-winning news host and anchor at WYSO, which he joined in 2007 after more than 15 years of volunteering with the public radio station. He serves as All Things Considered host, Alpha Rhythms co-host, and WYSO Weekend host. <br/>
