This week in the Sunday book section of the Dayton Daily News there's a list of the week's best-selling novels and next to it there's an image of the cover of "Falling" by T.J. Newman. When we recorded this interview with T.J. the book was just about to be officially published. This debut novel was garnering so much buzz that it had already gone into a third printing before the book was actually released.
And now it is a best-seller. T.J. Newman is a former flight attendant who got the idea for her sizzling thriller while she was working on overnight flights from Los Angeles to New York City. She mentioned her plot ideas to a pilot on one of those flights and he was visibly shaken by the notion of what she was proposing. Her scenario was scary-it seemed so very possible-and it was terrifying. Sheer terror in the skies with some brave people trying to outfox the terrorists.
That's why "Falling" is now a summer blockbuster.
