Chang-rae Lee returned to the program after what, for us, was a long hiatus. The last time we had him on the show it was ten years ago for his novel "The Surrendered," which went on to receive the Dayton Literary Peace Prize for Fiction.
His new book, "My Year Abroad," is a bit of a departure from his previous work which tended to be a touch on the somber side. This new one is actually quite humorous. Please listen in to our conversation to find out what it is all about, how he got the idea, and how he isn't a great karaoke singer but he does have a gift for humming.
The Book Nook on WYSO is presented by the Greene County Public Library with additional support from Washington-Centerville Public Library, Clark County Public Library, Dayton Metro Library, and Wright Memorial Public Library.
