What's Great In Dayton: May 3 - 9, 2019

BLOOM at The Arts Collaboratory is an experimental art show featuring two floors of visual and performance art. It’s at 100 West Second Street at Ludlow, tonight from 5 to 10pm.

The famous musical Annie has become a worldwide phenomenon. It features some of the greatest musical theatre hits ever written, including "Tomorrow." You can see the show at The Victoria, today and tomorrow.

First Friday: Liftoff to the Summer Edition. It’s the official start of the Summer in the season! The Downtown Dayton Partnership is welcoming back warmer days, longer nights, and cool events happening around downtown. Businesses will be bustling across town today.

A huge plant sale is at Wegerzyn Gardens on Siebenthaler Avenue in Dayton. It's Saturday, 9am to 3pm and Sunday 11am to 3pm.

A famous organ around here is now 30 years old and you can hear it. Dr. David Crean is performing a recital at St. George's Episcopal Church, in Kettering on Sunday, 3 to 4:30pm.

A Cinco de Mayo concert with Jimmy Leach and the Jazztet is performing a commemoration of Mexican culture and heritage. This is at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Oakwood on Sunday, at 3pm.

The senior filmmakers of Wright State University premiere their original short films at the 27th Annual BIG LENS FILM FESTIVAL. This year's films explore themes of mortality, religion, domestic abuse, gender, familial relationships, and workspace constructs. It’s at The Neon on Sunday at 5:30 and 8pm.

Charlie Campbell wants to spread the news of so many wonderful aspects in the greater Dayton area. He is a cheerleader and a real believer that our area is the place to be. He has been active in this area for almost 40 years and you can hear him weekly at WYSO.
