What's Great In Dayton: March 15 - 21, 2019

Food truck rally at the Yellow Cab in downtown Dayton

The Yellow Cab's inaugural Food Truck Rally of 2019 is this weekend.

There is a candidate for this year's Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Woman of the Year, and she  is hosting a fundraiser called Yoga for a Cure. You make a donation and get both a one-hour yoga session and wine and refreshments. It is at Day Yoga Studio, on Brown St., tonight, 6 to 8pm.

And to herald the end to our chilly winter the Yellow Cab Food Truck Rallies are excited to have their first festival for the 2019 season. This is at the Yellow Cab Tavern tonight 5-10pm.

If you want to learn how Oakwood evolved over 70 years from settlement, to village, and later a city, the Oakwood Historical Society is having a presentation about “How Oakwood Grew, Plat by Plat 1872-1956.” This is at the Wright Memorial Public Library on Sunday, at 2pm.

Two theaters are wrapping up this weekend and tickets are still available. One is at The Dayton Theatre Guild and with razor-sharp wit and extraordinary insight this considers the sweeping, surprising impact of indiscretions both large and small. It is "Our Mother’s Brief Affair."

And the other play is Around the World in 80 Days.  This is Phileas Fogg and with his faithful servant they have just 80 days to circle the globe–an inconceivable feat in 1872! This is at the Human Race Theatre.

Gotta go….
