Despite efforts to repair Shoup Park's historic metal slide, it has been closed and marked for replacement after damage from hillside erosion.

WYSO Today brings you news and weather for Dayton and Southwest Ohio. The city of Xenia and Central State University are close to an annexation agreement; over 1,500 ballots in May's primary election were tossed because they arrived after Election Day; and the state's $3.7 billion budget for infrastructure, and state and a beloved slide in Beavercreek closed for repairs hopes to reopen soon.

A chance meeting with a volunteer in a college computer lab in 1987 brought Mike Frazier to WYSO. He is a lifelong Daytonian and the host of Morning Edition.
