WYSO is partnering with Stats and Stories, a podcast produced at Miami University.
Uncertainty in life is inescapable no matter how much we wish it were otherwise. In the realm of science and statistics uncertainty is the rule. Communicating what uncertainty means in terms of research is an, at times, herculean task, it’s also the focus of this episode of Stats and Stories. Rosemary Pennington is joined by regular panelists John Bailer, Chair of Miami’s Statistics Department and Richard Campbell of Media Journalism and Film. Their guest is Louise Ryan, a Professor of Statistics in the School of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Technology Sydney, President of International Biometric Society, and the Editor-in-chief of Statistics in Medicine. She’s also written about the issue of uncertainty.
Stats and Stories is a partnership between Miami University's Departments of Statistics and Media, Journalism and Film and the American Statistical Association.
