Officials are looking for applicants to fill key law enforcement positions in Southern Ohio including U.S. Attorney and U.S. Marshal. Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown says the ideal candidates for these positions will have a history in law enforcement or law and a reputation for being nonpartisan.

“We’re not looking for anything partisan here when it comes to U.S. attorneys and U.S. Marshals," Brown said. "Senator Portman and I have worked that out over the years, regardless of who is president.”

Dan Devillers has been the acting U.S. Attorney for Southern Ohio since his predecessor, Benjamin Glassman stepped down in 2019. Brown hopes to have candidates selected over the next few weeks.

President Biden will officially nominate the selections and they must then be confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
