The Glen Helen Nature Preserve in Yellow Springs is set to reopen for the first time in months.

Now that ownership of Glen Helen has officially transferred from Antioch College to a community non-profit, the Glen Helen Association, trails will reopen Wednesday, September 9. Initially, trails and the Raptor Center will be open from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Full dawn to dusk hours will return on Saturday, September 12. Masks are required in the parking area and where visitors can’t stay six feet apart, and most trails have been designated for one-way travel only. The outdoor education program at the Glen won’t start back up again until at least 2021.

The Glen Helen Association will now embark on a 3.5 million dollar capital campaign to fund the purchase expense, and to fund future programs.
