Three-term Greene County Commissioner Alan Anderson is being challenged in his bid for re-election in the upcoming primary election.

Anderson will face current Greene County Treasurer Dick Gould for the Republican nomination. Gould, of Xenia, worked as a police officer, accountant, and realtor before becoming County Treasurer in 2011. Incumbent Anderson, a Xenia attorney, has served on the commission since 2007.

On the Democratic side, Beavercreek native Susan Lopez will face Steve Bujenovic, of Yellow Springs, in the May 8 primary. Lopez is the director of the Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Family Resource Center while Bujenovic is a physician. Neither have held public office before. The winner of the race will face the Republican nominee in the fall general election.

The Greene County Commission is a 3-person board. Each member is elected to serve a four-year term.
