What's Great in Dayton: June 29 - July 5, 2012

Cityfolk Festival attendees

Cityfolk Festival in downtown Dayton….starts this evening at 6 and all day Saturday and Sunday….A three day multi-cultural celebration, featuring the best in traditional and ethnic music, dance and arts from across the United States and around the world. Great children's activities. Admission to the festival is free but there is a $5 suggested donation.

The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming….the first film of the Victoria Theatre Cool Films Series was released in 1966, this film puts a light-hearted spin on the Cold War era. Ample parking is available at the Bomberger Center and Stivers School for the Arts. Tickets this year are $12 each for the tour alone, or $15 for the tour and a visit to the Victorian Tea Garden.

Also on Saturday, 2:00 to 4:00pm is a Paul Laurence Dunbar Birthday Party. Enjoy cake and ice cream after the ceremony, which will take place at the Wright-Dunbar Visitor Center, 16 South Williams Street, Dayton.

And don't miss the City of Dayton's Fireworks display on Sunday at 10 p.m.,….downtown on Riverscape….30 minutes of kaboom and ohhhhhh!
