Chancellor Toni Murdock on Antioch University and Higher Education

Antioch University Chancellor Toni Murdock
Antioch University Chancellor Toni Murdock

In 1997,  Tullisse (Toni) Murdock was appointed the first female president of an Antioch campus (Seattle), where she served for nine years. She became Antioch's first female chancellor in 2005 and during her tenure the University underwent several major transitions, including its separation from Antioch College. Murdock also oversaw structural changes in the governance of the University, including the establishment of a board of trustees for each of its 5 campuses in four states. On November 3, 2011 Antioch University announced that Murdock is retiring, effective June of 2012.

Here Murdock speaks with WYSO's Emily McCord about her feelings about higher education, the changes that occurred at Antioch University during her tenure and the current state of the University.
