Poll Finds Obama Edges Ahead Of Romney, Large Margin From GOP Hopefuls

A new independent poll says Mitt Romney and President Obama are running neck and neck in Ohio and two other key swing states. From member station WOSU, Steve Brown reports. Quinnipiac University’s first “Swing State” of the 2012 presidential campaign surveyed registered voters in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida. Here in Ohio, it gives President Obama a 45 to 42 point lead over Romney, when pitted head-head-head. That lead increases to at least ten points when the President faces GOP contenders Herman Cain, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, and Texas Governor Rick Perry.

In Ohio’s GOP primary field, Cain enjoys the most support at 25 percent. He’s followed by Romney, Texas Congressman Ron Paul, Gingrich, Perry and Minnesota Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann.
