What's Great In Dayton - Social Distancing Edition: May 22 - 28, 2020

City of Kettering Rosewood Art Gallery
https://www.playkettering.org/
The City of Kettering's Rosewood Gallery is continuing its Art From Home series.

The City of Kettering Rosewood Gallery has Art From Home featuring new art activities that can be done from the comfort and safety of your own house. Making art is more important than ever right now. Studies have shown that taking time to be creative has a host of benefits for both adults and children including reducing stress and boosting mood.

The Dayton Society of Artists has a virtual gallery called Intertwined. This features fiber art created by artists from all over the USA. While you cannot actually see and touch them, the next best thing is some high-quality images that you can view. At this gallery you’ll be able to scroll through the pieces and each one leads to more information about the art and artist. There’s a shopping cart for when you find a piece you need to call your own.

The Washington-Centerville Public Library has an “out of this world” virtual event. You can hear a NASA Solar System Ambassador talk about the first mission that will be launching astronauts from U.S. soil since 2011!  This event is on Saturday at 2pm.

There arre four people who do a concert six feet apart in Oakwood.  On Saturday they are playing patriotic music for Memorial Day. This is at 2pm (weather permitting).  There is no Facebook, no website, AND no cost….just stroll over at the corner of East Dixon Avenue and Shafor Boulevard and listen to them play.

Keep exploring Five Rivers MetroParks. Wherever you go there are all kind of things to do and places to walk and explore. Go to their website at metroparks.org
