What's Great in Dayton: June 23 - 29, 2017

Festival On The Hill! brings summer fun to downtown Dayton at the historic and beautiful Dayton Masonic Center. Entertainment on the main stage with our own local favorites as well as national touring and recording artists. Wine, domestic and craft beer will be available and numerous food vendors too. Friday, 5 - 11 pm and Saturday, Noon - 11 pm.

A birthday party to commemorate Paul Laurence Dunbar, is on Saturday, 11:00am to 3:00pm. It will feature tours of the Paul Laurence Dunbar home, lots of food, cake and ice cream, music, storytelling and Dunbar's poetry. Everyone is invited and there is no cost.

ALL ABOARD! The 12th Annual Carillon Historical Park Rail Festival is having lots of different trains, merchandise, and a musician! Saturday, 9:30am to 5pm and Sunday, 11am to 4pm.

The Keeping the Tradition Pow Wow event features both men and women's dances wearing full regalia. Traditional American Indian arts, crafts and food will be available. This is at The SunWatch Indian Village on Saturday, 1pm to 8:30pm and Sunday, 11:00 am to 5pm. 

Bees 'n Aull: A Pollinator Celebration is on Sunday from noon to 5pm. Learn about pollinators-birds, bees, butterflies and more. It’s a fun-filled day with hands-on learning opportunities, crafts, demonstrations, programs and exploration of Aullwood Farm.

It's Instrumental! WDPR is collecting new or used orchestra and band instruments which will be repaired or reconditioned, and then given to local children's music programs. Make your instrument donations now at the Discover Classical studio in downtown Dayton, or at any Grismer Tire & Auto Service location.
