What's Great in Dayton: April 7 - 13, 2017
The TEJAS Gallery is opening The Millennial Show tonight from 6:30 to 8:30pm. This is a juried exhibition featuring artwork created by 20 local Generation Y era artists. Light refreshments, drinks and the artist panel discussion is from 7 to 8.
The Yellow Cab Creative Arts Building is presenting its annual Craft Convention tonight from 5 to 10pm at the Yellow Cab building. CraftyCon will feature wares from over 25 local artisan vendors, The Battle of the Crafters, a t-shirt transformation demo, a food truck, swag bags, and more. There is no cost and open to the public.
Dogfight: A Love Story. A young soldier learns the power of compassion when he plays a cruel joke on an unsuspecting girl. This hauntingly beautiful musical was praised by countless critics and nominated for numerous awards and is a perfect musical to entertain and challenge audiences. It is at the Schuster tonight at 8:00pm and Saturday at 2 & 8.
A Salute to the USO from the '40's to hip contemporary music is a benefit concert including entertainment from the Dayton Gay Men's Chorus, great libations, food, silent and live auctions. This is at the Memorial Hall, Saturday, doors open at 7; entertainment at 8. Advance purchase required.
Antioch Writers Workshop are presenting a Poetry Mini-Seminar at Books&Co at The Greene on Sunday, from 2 - 3:30 pm. There is no cost for this.
And finally, come and visit Nature's Majesty Art Exhibit and marvel at the exquisite watercolor, acrylic and oil paintings depicting wildlife, birds, flora and landscapes! There are featured artists who are part of the Masterworks for Nature group. This is at the Aullwood Audubon Center.
