What's Great in Dayton: December 9 - 15, 2016

Gather with friends of the Tecumseh Land Trust and Glen Helen for an evening of poetry in honor of the Winter Solstice. Twelve scheduled poets will share work based on the winter solstice. A wine and cheese reception and an open mic session will follow the scheduled poets. This is at the Glen Helen Auditorium today 7 - 9PM.

The 2nd annual Mistletoe Magic Holiday Marketplace is at the Dayton Convention Center on Saturday. A one-of-a kind Santa will be there and a one of a kind gingerbread house backdrop, which makes a perfect setting for pictures. Come and shop from a large variety of exhibitors.

The Miami Valley Symphony Orchestra has two holiday performances at the Dayton Masonic Center. It includes holiday orchestral favorites, and dancers from the Gem City Ballet Company and local vocal soloists. The program will be about 75 minutes long and is designed to entertain the whole family. Come get in the holiday spirit! Saturday at 2:00 & 7:00pm…..and there is no cost.

If you want to do some Candle Dipping then on  Saturdays and Sundays for the next 2 weekends you can dip candles in beeswax to create beautiful hand-crafted treasures. This is at The Aullwood Farm starting at 2:30pm.

On Sunday evening  the Comedy Night is at The Victoria Theatre. It is from 7 to 9PM and will be an evening of fun and laughter with one of the funniest and most inspiring comedians in the business, Jeff Allen! Your ticket purchase will also support Military Families receiving medical treatment at Wright Patterson Medical Center as 100% of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the Fisher House Foundation.
