200 amphibians have become extinct since 1979, and one third of the worlds amphibian species are currently in danger of extinction, especially frogs.
Their permeable skin makes them extremely sensitive to changes in their environment, especially UV-B radiation from global warming and, while they may have survived climate changes in the past, those changes are now happening to rapidly for most frogs to adapt.
Find out more about this disturbing environmental trend this Friday night when the Miami County Park District hosts Frog Walks. It runs from 8 - 9:30 pm, at the Stillwater Prairie Reserve off State Route 185 in Covington. Bring a flash light!
List your event on the WYSO community calendar and we might spotlight it on the air!
