What's Great in Dayton: August 3 - 9, 2012

RiverScape MetroPark will host the final concert in this year's series, with Stranger performing from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The park's concession stand will be open and beer will be sold from 5 to 7 p.m. MetroParks will demonstrate various kayaking skills on the river and free kayak rentals will be available.

And, RTA will debut its new "On the Road" bus, a hands-on, retrofitted bus available for tours.  The bus has special features, including computer kiosks for website training, interior LCD monitors with video montages and an exterior monitor for outside viewing.  And since it is First Friday all around downtown Dayton things are going on!!!

Saturday is the Great American Beer Tasting at Fifth Third Field, from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. The event has grown into one of the largest beer tasting events in the region. With 80 beers available for sampling, this year's event showcases the biggest number and widest variety of beers in Great American Beer Tasting history. Do a search for Dayton Dragons and you can find it.
Take your dog for a walk on Saturday morning in the Woodland Cemetery. There are some guided tours so you and your doggie will see and hear about famous or infamous people buried in the Woodland cemetery.

Saturday, bring your bike and join for a free 10 mile ride to explore Dayton's neighborhoods, businesses, and cultural, historical and recreational points of interest. This is the 2nd Annual Tour de Dayton. Riders of all ages and skill levels are welcome! Let's help make Dayton a more bike-friendly and healthy city!

Innocent or Guilty...You Decide! It’s called Old Case Files and it features a dramatic presentation of the 1876 trial in which Harry Adams was accused of murdering a Civil War veteran. Filled with mystery, intrigue, and excitement, audience members will have a chance to interact with the witnesses and some attending the show may be lucky enough to be chosen for the jury to decide Adams' fate. This entertaining and engaging living history event is Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
