LISTEN: Dave Gordon and Watershed Live At Kelly Hall 1981

Dayton folk music favorites Dave Gordon and Watershed (Kay Gordon, Marvin Thordsen and Rick Wagner) performed to a keen audience at Kelly Hall on the Antioch College campus on a Friday. It was sometime in June or July, 1981...as to the exact date, no one knows.

The concert was recorded by WYSO's Chuck Ganzert for broadcast later that evening on a program called Nightclub of the Air. After the concert concluded, audience member Kevin Bourne rushed back to his home, and began taping the broadcast off the radio.

Kevin recently delivered the much-loved recordings to WYSO staff. He also did an interview with Gina Kay Gordon, (now Landes), and it and the recorded concert comprise this audio special that aired on July 26, 2020 during The Dear Green Place.

Cindy Funk has been a lover of folk music of all kinds for so long, she can barely remember when she got hooked. But it's a good bet that it was WYSO that is responsible! In the 1980's, Cindy hosted a Celtic music show on WYSO called "Shamrocks, Heather and Roses" until 1987. In the meantime, she was busy performing in the folk group Sweetwater, that played all around the Midwest. Then, in 2005, Cindy reappeared on WYSO's airwaves with her new show - "The Dear Green Place" - like the earlier show, filled with the traditional and contemporary Celtic music that she loves so much.
