Equity In Death Care: Planning for death for yourself or loved ones can be difficult. And for some members of the LGBTQIA+ community, it's even more daunting – especially if their families don’t acknowledge their identity. For trans people, that could mean deadnaming, or dressing the person in the wrong clothing. That’s why an associate professor at the University of Cincinnati and a graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science are seeking more inclusive deathcare. WYSO’s Shay Frank reports.
