Book Nook: The Lost Village by Camilla Sten

Vick Mickunas' 2021 interview with Camilla Sten

The Swedish writer Camilla Sten made her first appearance on the program to talk about her novel "The Lost Village." Sten imagined an abandoned mining town in Sweden that has sat deserted for decades. Nobody knows what became of the inhabitants. One day they simply vanished. A film crew has arrived there to make a documentary. As they explore this eerie and desolate place some strange things occur. Scary things. They begin to get nervous as they start to wonder, are we really alone here? Sten builds the tension in this creepy thriller and by the time we get into the final portion of the book we are experiencing full blown horror. If you enjoy getting scared out of your recliner this could be the novel for you.

The Book Nook on WYSO is presented by the Greene County Public Library with additional support from Washington-Centerville Public Library, Clark County Public Library, Dayton Metro Library, and Wright Memorial Public Library.
