Clifford Kindy has spent a good portion of his life waging peace. He believes that war is obsolete. It has no value, no purpose, other that death, destruction, and the enrichment of profiteers. In his book "Resurrection Peacemaking: Plowsharing the Tools of War: Thirty Years with Christian Peacemaker Teams" Cliff describes how he has gone into war zones and places where violence was recurring and he placed himself in harm's way in an effort to deter bloodshed, to stop the killing. He even tried to stop a war.
What an inspiring book. I hope his publisher submits it for consideration for the Dayton Literary Peace Prize this year for non-fiction. Cliff has written a powerful indictment of war. And if he did win the DLPP he could give one heckuva speech. I loved this book and his interview was wonderful, too.
