Book Nook: In The House In The Dark Of The Woods, by Laird Hunt
Laird Hunt returned to the program to discuss his final book in a quartet of novels. Hunt did not set out to write a horror story but after you read 'In the House in the Dark of the Woods" I think you'll agree that is exactly what he has done.
I encourage you to read this book. I don't know how he did it. It seems that he was able to access some subterranean channel for inspiration. There's a sense that we are witnessing automatic writing here and the author was a mere vessel spilling over with the darkest, most horribly enchanting tale imaginable. It is an excruciatingly delightful voyage through the sky and back down to the darkness looming below.
This book seems destined to become a classic.
