WYSO Weekend Black

In this edition of WYSO Weekend:

Two weeks after Governor Mike DeWine unveiled his so-called 'Strong Ohio' gun control package, groups on both sides of the issue are ramping up the rhetoric. The plan disappointed many who wanted universal background checks and a law allowing judges to take guns from someone deemed a threat. DeWine called for both measures after the Oregon District mass shooting. The scene adaptation of William Peter Blatty's 1971 horror novel The Exorcist was released in 1973. Forty-six years later, the movie will serve as the maiden voyage film for the new Dayton Dinner Theatre, taking place in the historic Dayton Engineers Club. The dinner-and-a-show event is a collaboration between the Engineer’s Club and local entrepreneur, John Boucuvalas, who says the events are meant to bring people together.
