What's Great In Dayton: November 23 - 29, 2018

The Dayton Holiday Festival kicks off this weekend.

The Dayton Holiday Festival returns to downtown Dayton beginning today with the Grande Illumination and the Dayton Children's Parade Spectacular in Lights! The fun kicks off at 4pm and things are going on to 9 pm. All sorts of events and activities continues throughout December.

And the MetroParks Ice Rinkalso officially opens today. This ice rink has beautiful views of the scenic Great Miami River in downtown Dayton and is the region's largest outdoor ice skating rink.

The McPherson Town neighbors open up ten beautiful historic homes which are decorated in holiday splendor. These offer a look at where the home and the neighborhood have been and where they are now. You can visit them today and Saturday.

The Miami Valley Pottery has many new creations and every piece is decorated with some sort of flower. Some are abstract, many are detailed interpretations of flowers from the garden, and some even have birds and bees! It’s open today through Sunday,10am to 5pm.

The Last Waltz was the final live performance by The Band on November 25, 1976. It lives on since Martin Scorsese filmed this epic concert. Decades later here in Dayton and in cities all across the nation an annual tradition has blossomed. Our Dayton Philharmonic welcomes over thirty local musicians for an outstanding night of music. It is at the Schuster and is Saturday at 8pm.
