The annual Smith Gardens Perennial Sale is this weekend in Oakwood.

If you want to take a ride in an electric vehicle and, chat with enthusiastic and knowledgeable owners, and, learn about very low energy and maintenance costs and, of course, no fossil burning pollution emissions then there are two places to go. On Saturday, between 10am to 2pm, go to Glen Helen Ecology Institute, in Yellow Springs. Then on Sunday, 2 to 5pm, go to Oakwood High School.

In the mid-1980’s in a suburban Massachusetts town a thirty-something-year-old Josephine Rosen has a dead-end job as a secretary and still lives at home with her mother. This is a new play called “Nice Girl” and is at the Dayton Theatre Guild. It runs through May 5.

The famous house in Oakwood of the Wright Brothers is having an “open house.” It’s on Sunday from noon to 5pm. This special Hawthorn Hill open house only happens once a year and has sold out the past three years!

The annual Smith Gardens “Perennial Sale” has a wide variety of perennials, herbs, everlastings, ornamental grasses, wildflowers, hostas, ferns and daylilies that you can buy. This is at the Oakwood Community Center, 105 Patterson Road, in Oakwood. Today, it’s from 3 to 8pm and Saturday, 9am to 3pm.

Tecumseh Land Trust is sponsoring the Earth Day Plant Swap and Sale on Saturday, from 10am to 2pm at Glen Helen Nature Preserve’s Vernet Building, here in Yellow Springs.

After growing up in the city, Daytonian Joseph Hadlock spent his last high school year learning about organic/sustainable farming at Carriage Hill Farm - where David Vetter ran the farm. It's with great enthusiasm that Hadlock is bringing the new film DREAMING OF A VETTER WORLD to the Neon on Sunday at 3pm.

Gotta go….
