9-year-old Amos Ballew lives in Athens County with his family. He believes the Haitians want a good life like he has. Temporary Protected Status for Haitian immigrants has been extended but the threat to their legal status isn't over.

WYSO Today brings you news and weather for Dayton and Southwest Ohio, including reaction on the continuation of Temporary Protected Status of Haitians living in the US from the Springfield Haitian community, what Governor Mike DeWine knew of a possible surge of ICE in Springfield, and why an immigration attorney says the threat to the legal status of Haitian immigrants isn't over.

A chance meeting with a volunteer in a college computer lab in 1987 brought Mike Frazier to WYSO. He is a lifelong Daytonian and the host of Morning Edition.
